From Pastor Judith & Elder Moulton Esdaille

To our Mount Carmel Pentecostal Church family, far and near, blessings to you in 2021.

Thank you for taking the journey with us in 2020 when we embarked on our virtual worship experience.

We have worshipped together using means that were foreign to us before 2020.  Zoom is an example.  We touched each other in prayer via conference line, interceding for all.  We ministered from living rooms, dining rooms, offices, and the sanctuary.  We provided support for each other whether it was by hosting couples or mental health seminars, youth talk sessions or catering to our young audience by having Sunday school via zoom.  During the uncertain time of racial unrest, we supported our Sunday school students and youths by having dialogue.

Our worship experience extended outside of our local church address and reached persons far away.  I know this is what the scripture intended as stated in Mark 16:15 (KJV), “And He said unto them, Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.”

We sang, we praised, we recognized milestones such as virtual graduations.  Considering the restrictions set for large gatherings, small intimate weddings were conducted.  Babies were born and dedicated to the Lord.  You supported the ministry by giving, showing up when it was safe to do so, reaching out to our fellow man e.g., food distribution.  Your God-given gifts and talents were used to glorify the Lord.

We used the Word of God as our guide as we continually conducted Bible studies.  We utilized the scriptures to uplift, dispel doubt and fear and chastise where necessary.

And yes, we cried.  We cried together, with and for each other.  We were devastated as we lost friends, family, and acquaintances or just because the loss around us was so great.  We are saddened for the sick, the lonely, the unemployed, the loss of our regular routine and many of the other changes that have taken some getting accustomed to.  Crying and sorrowing were the natural reaction, but we were constantly reminded that our hope is in the Lord of Hosts.

We continue to pray for and support our affiliate churches.  May the Lord guide us and give us His Peace in 2021.  We have gained new friends as well as converts because of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Love & Blessings to you all!
